The Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Diocese of Talibon, Bohol |
Do you know that Talibon is also the cradle of Christianity in the whole of Asia. As written in history, long before the first missionary came to Philippines, the Christianity already existed in Talibon and they are called as the Trinidad Christian's of Talibon". They are the same Spanish that originally land in Mactan with Magellan but flee for their life towards Talibon where they mingle with the natives and married and soon convert the place to Christianity, In honor of the patron of their ship, they dedicated the place to Santisima Trinidad. From then up to this day, Talibon is commemorating the fiesta of the Patron Santisima Tirnidad (The Holy Trinity) every last Saturday of May of the year.
